# Akeneo

Generate, translate and rewrite product content directly against your Akeneo PIM.

The Newtone connector for Akeneo works against your PIM as the system of record. Product data stays in Akeneo; Newtone reads the attributes in scope and writes enhanced content back to the attributes you nominate.

## What it does

**Generate** — write product content from existing attributes, following your generation guidelines.

**Translate** — carry approved content into your target locales, following your translation guidelines.

**Rewrite** — regenerate existing content against current guidelines, for catalogs where copy predates the configuration or needs to move to a new voice.

All three apply the same brand guidelines and can be run singly, in bulk, or on a schedule. See Single, bulk and workflows.

## Getting set up

Installing the application from the App Store is a matter of a few minutes only. [Contact us](/contact-us/contact.md) if you want to enable the Akeneo integration.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.newtone.ai/documentation/integrations/akeneo.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
